Sayeed is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Georgetown University in Qatar. He is an expert, with a special focus on environment and climate policy in the Gulf. He is particularly well known for his work on the Emissions Inventory of Qatar.

He is an engaged scholar, with a commitment to extending academic research to the real world, by collaborating with policymakers, civil society and the general public.

He is founder of two non-governmental environmental organizations, in India and in Qatar. Both organizations aimed to develop evidence-based reports to develop campaigns to raise awareness in the community and to suggest better policy recommendations. His work has achieved high-level recognition, and some of his recommendations have been included in the national action plan of Qatar’s Ministry of Environment. He has also worked as a consultant for the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, member of several committees in the Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Environment, and Ministry of Development and Statistics.
